It is technically and undoubtedly a no brainer that public safety is a role of utmost importance. According to an online survey, your chances of getting robbed, mugged, or even raped in Queens, New York is about 1 in 254. Just imagine. How are you possibly going to feel safe when the stakes are that high.

The increasing crime rate in the city and its dwindling economy makes it one of the most undesirable places to visit in the state. We could stop there and say that is the upside of prioritizing public safety Queens but we wont. There are plenty more other reasons.

The answer to that question is, of course, public safety which is why it should also be given priority among the many things our government has given more importance over. We would rather have the chances of our business from getting robbed lowered than not at all. But public safety is not the only player that should be on the field.

But public safety is not enough. Sure, catching criminals is good but putting these hooligans behind bars is a thing of the past now kind of, what with all the crime still going around. We need a new system. One that is highly effective so we can finally wave goodbye to our sad predicament.

Drug abuse or any other illegal drug related crime has reached to undeniably great lengths and heights. A global issue we should all be well aware of and fight to end. Drug use, abuse, and drug pushing have claimed the lives of many and is most prominent in some cities. Sadly, one of those cities is our own and merely catching criminals is just not enough anymore.

As we have been informed, the ongoing crime strings in Queens is a result of drug related activities. These said druglords have taken up residence in the citys empty lots and abandoned buildings which are prominent in some areas. An issue which not only proves to be a problem to us here in Queens but as well as the rest of the world. This also has proved to be quite the handful for our police force.

Aside from the crimes that will most likely emerge from this mess, this also proves to be a hindrance for potential investors. The growing crime rate, due to this predicament, have ceased potential investors from investing in a place they do not feel safe in. All the more reason for public safety to be put first in the government and polices list.

Thankfully, there is a potentially effective solution. Government funding of quality and affordable homes in these said above lots might just be able to help. By taking away these lots from these crimelords, we will be able to stop them at their tracks and finally put an end to these string of events.

But aside from everything we have mentioned above, it is by far most important for us to be able to go home, and not have to worry about any of these things happening to us. After a hard days work we can head home safely and know that our families will be there waiting for us. We can sleep sound knowing our community is truly a safe place to live in.
